You do not need a car for a Las Vegas trip based on the Strip. Combine walking with the Monorail, free trams and the Deuce bus.

Las Vegas Monorail

Runs along the east side of the Strip with seven stations, south to north: MGM Grand, Horseshoe/Paris, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Harrah’s/The LINQ, Las Vegas Convention Center, Westgate, SAHARA.

  • Hours: from 7 am to midnight on Mondays, to 2 am Tuesday to Thursday and to 3 am Friday to Sunday.
  • Fares: about $6 for a single ride, about $15 for a 24-hour pass (cheaper online). Nevada residents can buy $1 local tickets at staffed stations.
  • Stations are at the back of the resorts, so allow a few minutes’ walk.

Free trams

  • Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay (west side, south Strip).
  • Park MGM, ARIA and Bellagio (check it is running). The tram between the Mirage and Treasure Island closed with the Mirage in 2024.

The Deuce bus

RTC’s double-decker runs 24 hours along the Strip and to downtown. Buy passes on the rConnect app or at machines. It is slow in traffic but cheap.

Vegas Loop

The Boring Company’s tunnel system runs Teslas between Las Vegas Convention Center halls, Resorts World and the Westgate, with routes expanding.

Rideshare and taxis

Each resort has signed rideshare pickup areas, usually in or near the parking garage. During big events (F1, New Year’s Eve, CES) traffic and surge pricing can be severe.

Walking

Use the pedestrian bridges at the big intersections: you cannot cross the Boulevard at street level at Flamingo, Tropicana or Spring Mountain. See the Strip, mile by mile for walk times.
