The Sahara opened in 1952 and was one of the original Rat Pack hangouts. After a spell as the SLS it went back to its old name, with modernised rooms and a quieter style than the big centre-Strip resorts.
Its main advantage is the Monorail, which starts here and runs down the east side of the Strip.
The story
The Sahara opened in 1952 with a desert theme and hosted the Rat Pack era’s big names. It closed in 2011, reopened as the SLS in 2014, and in 2019 new owners went back to the original name with a full redesign.
