Luxor’s 30-storey pyramid opened in 1993. At night a beam of light from its tip shines into the sky; inside, rooms line the slanted walls around a huge atrium.

The story

Luxor opened in 1993 as a 30-storey pyramid with inclined elevators (called inclinators) and a light beam from the top that is visible from far away. Exhibitions inside have included Titanic artefacts and anatomy shows.

A few hours at Luxor

  1. Look up inside the pyramid’s atrium, one of the largest in the world.
  2. See the light beam from the top after dark.
  3. Ride the free tram to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur.
