The Venetian Resort

Venice on the Strip: canals with gondolas, an all-suite hotel in two towers (Venetian and Palazzo), and a bridge to the Sphere.

Grand, busy, themed. Best for: Suites, shopping and the Sphere.

The Venetian recreates Venice with a campanile, a Rialto bridge and indoor canals under a painted sky. Its rooms are all suites, split between the Venetian and the newer Palazzo tower.

The Sphere, the giant LED-covered venue that opened in 2023, sits directly behind and is reached by a bridge.

The story

The Venetian opened in 1999 on the site of the Sands, where the Rat Pack used to perform. Its painted-sky Grand Canal Shoppes with gondolas became one of the city’s signature indoor walks. The Palazzo tower was added in 2007.

A few hours at The Venetian Resort

  1. Walk the Grand Canal Shoppes and watch the gondolas; a ride is optional.
  2. Look at the outdoor canal and St Mark’s Square replica from the Strip.
  3. Step through to Sphere for the Exosphere at night.
