Las Vegas is built for adults, but families can have a great time with the right base and plan.

Best family resorts

  • Circus Circus: free circus acts and the Adventuredome indoor theme park.
  • Mandalay Bay: wave pool, lazy river and Shark Reef aquarium.
  • MGM Grand: big pool complex with a lazy river.
  • The Venetian: canals and gondolas, large suites.
  • Vdara: no casino, suites with kitchenettes.

Free things kids like

Flamingo Wildlife Habitat, Circus Circus acts, Bellagio fountains and Conservatory, M&M’s World and Hershey’s Chocolate World, Fremont Street light shows (early evening).

Day trips

Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and, in summer, Mount Charleston to escape the heat.

Good to know

  • Under-21s cannot linger in casino areas.
  • Some pools are adults-only, and dayclubs are 21+.
  • Curfew laws apply to minors without an adult late at night.
